Product Refinement

Raising the standard of a machine to that of a manufactured product is no easy task. However, Motion Design has successfully achieved this with one of its laboratory robots. For the ILAS3000 robot to be sold internationally, it was essential that it complied with European and American standards.

Product refinement encompasses the following areas:

• Product redesigned for efficient batch manufacturing and modular assembly. 


• Evaluate and redesign the machine mechanically and electrically for a high level of operator safety. 


• Evaluate and alter the electrical cabinet, components, wiring and the control system with regard to EMC radiation and immunity. 

This process is time-consuming and expensive. Having been through it, Motion Design are in a great position to assist or advise other companies in doing the same for their products. Given the limited knowledge and the few agencies within Australia or New Zealand that are qualified to certify machines, we feel that machine builders can benefit greatly from such assistance.
